Altar Boy

An Altar Boy is someone who is privileged to serve in the sanctuary at the altar during the celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. The Altar Boy has received special permission to serve in the Holy Altar and to assist the priest in the celebration of the Mass.

At St. John the Baptist we are establishing the traditional practice of male only altar boys.   The purpose is to:
1.  Foster priestly vocations
2.  Encourage an atmosphere conducive to a healthy masculinity in boys.
